Hey! Stev is posting with a question about books! I was just wondering what books are the current fave! My personal faves are Percy Jackson and The Olympians (all of them, by Rick Riordan) and Ranger's Apprentice (again, all of them)
Ranger's Apprentice (by John Flanagan) is about a fifteen-year-old boy named Will who lives in the castle ward with the other orphans of Redmont Fief. On Choosing Day, none of the Craftmasters want to choose him...except one. The mysterious Ranger Halt gives a note about Will to Baron Arald. Any more info would be spoilery!! You'll have to read it to find out more! HAHAHA!
Comment, please, readers who read, and tell me all about your favorite book(s). ;)
I have such a hard time choosing a favorite book, but one of my very favorites is THE MAN IN THE CEILING by Jules Feiffer. It's about a boy who draws comic books, so there are a ton of illustrations and comics worked into the narrative...it's really cool.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can pick just one book. HOW TO BUILD A HOUSE by Dana Reinhardt. It's about a girl dealing with her dad and step-mom's divorce, how to be friends with her stepsister after the divorce and spending a summer in TN building a house after a tornado devestates a small town. It's one of the few books I've read twice in a row...in the same day.
ReplyDeleteI love both of the books you put on your post I just started reading rangers apprentice books I've just made it to the 3rd one but SOMEONE has been forgeting to bring it. :(
ReplyDeleteSome of my favourite books are written by Diana Wynne Jones. Her book Dosgbody made me want to become a writer.
ReplyDeleteShe also wrote a series called the Chrestomanci books, about enchanters who basically try to keep control over magic being used in a bunch of parallel universes.
And she wrote Howl's Moving Castle, and Howell Jenkins is so utterly a fave character of mine. Aaaaactually, no I want to go read it again.
My favorite book has got to be Sarah's Key, by Tatiana de Rosnay. It's such a sad and beautiful book... if you want to know more, look for my review of it on October 15th!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite middle school book is Sharon Creech's Walk Two Moons. My favorite young adult books I've read recently are Everything Beautiful by Simmone Howell and The Sky is Everywhere, by Jandy Nelson. I really love to read contemporary realistic novels with beautiful language and strong stories!
